|
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Masked robbers stormed into an illicit poker game in a midtown Manhattan office building, shooting one man dead in a violent stickup, police said.
Police were searching for suspects on Saturday.
With their faces covered, four men burst in on the gamblers late Friday night on the seventh floor of a Fifth Avenue building a few blocks from the Empire State Building, police said.
During the confrontation, 55-year-old Frank Desena of Wayne, New Jersey was shot in the torso, according to police. He died at a local hospital about 40 minutes after the shooting. His identity wasn't released.
A number of professional offices, real estate firms and other businesses are listed at the building, which historically also had apartments on the upper floors.
