Brentwood, L.I. Family Suffers Break-In, Armed Robbery
BRENTWOOD, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Suffolk County Police are looking for four armed men who stormed into a Brentwood home early this morning in an attempted burglary. Police say no one was injured. The attack happened at 219 Grand Boulevard, Brentwood shortly after midnight.
At about 12:10 a.m. Monday three men forced their way into a single family home at 219 Grand Blvd. Police detectives from the Third Squad said occupants of the house - a man, a woman and two children - were overpowered and forced to turn over cash and other valuables to the three intruders.
While the suspects were still at the scene, another resident of the house arrived and got into an altercation with one of the burglars outside the house. The resident suffered slight injuries.
Homeowner Julio Martinez told News 12 Long Island that he returned to his home this morning to find his wife tied up at gunpoint. Martinez says the robbers also threatened to kill his eight and two-year-old children.
Martinez says the suspects got into the home by knocking on the front door and asking for him by his first name. He adds that he doesn't know the suspects.
The suspects fled the scene in what was described as a black Honda sedan and another dark-colored vehicle of an unknown make and model. Police are investigating if additional suspects may have driven the vehicles away from the house.
Police are looking for three Hispanic men, one approximately 25 years old and one approximately 20 years old.
