New York's Russian Tea Room to Reopen
|
NEW YORK -- The legendary Russian Tea Room will be back in business starting this week.
In its hey day it was the haunt of the city's theater and literary-types, but the restaurant shut its doors in 2002 after declaring bankruptcy.
In preparation for tomorrow's reopening, the 80-year-old institution updated its interiors, but the famous red and green decor remain the same.
Owners have also hired a new chef to cook up signature dishes.
The Russian Tea Room first opened in 1926 and moved to its present location on West 57th Street a year later.
