NYC to Mark Veteran's Day With Parade, Ceremonies



NEW YORK (AP)  -- Veterans of the U.S. armed forces will be honored this weekend in ceremonies throughout the New York City metro area.
   
In New York City, the annual Veterans Day Parade will be held in Manhattan.
   
The 88th annual Veterans Day Parade will begin Sunday at 10 a.m. with the Eternal Light Monument Ceremony at Madison Square Park, at Fifth Avenue and 24th Street. The parade, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., travels up Fifth Avenue from 26th Street to 56th Street.
   
The bugle will sound and poppy wreaths will also be seen in Hampton Bays, Long Island, with the dedication of a new Veterans Park.
   
And in Westchester, members of the James Daly Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, the county's oldest post, will salute their war dead in a ceremony in Hastings-on-Hudson.
