Man Found Stabbed Near Queens School

NEW YORK (AP)  -- A man was found stabbed to death in a handball court in a park across the street from an elementary school, police said.

No arrests had been made early Thursday in the killing, which rattled residents of the residential Queens neighborhood where Domingo Hernandez was found Wednesday morning. No homicides have been recorded in the area, called Little Neck, this year.

"My kids play in this park. It's just a shock,'' said Linda Courtney, 43.

The school, P.S. 94, was on a holiday break.

Medical examiners were conducting an autopsy on Hernandez, 35. Police said a passer-by found his body Wednesday morning in Admiral Park, in the Little Neck neighborhood.

No telephone number could be found for the Queens address police provided for Hernandez.
