New Bronx Courthouse Ready to Open

NEW YORK (AP) -- A court official said a long-delayed new Bronx courthouse is ready to open, about three years behind schedule and
$100 million over budget.
State Office of Court Administration operations chief Ronald Younkins said the first cases will be heard Monday at the new Bronx County Hall of Justice.
A state court system journal has described the $421 million building as one of the largest courthouses ever built in the United States. It covers two full blocks on 161st Street.
