Man Assaults Estranged Wife & Family With Bat

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- An estranged husband forced his way into his wife's Long Island house and assaulted her and her family with a baseball bat.

Christopher Gallope, 36 of 21 White Oak Street, Deer Park, broke through the front bay window at 12 Star Court and attacked his estranged wife, Theresa Galoppe, 44, with the bat striking her repeatedly on the head and back.

He then attacked Theresa's mother, Lucille Capalone, 67, and grandmother, Attilia Desiderio, 91, also causing head and back injuries.

One of the three children in the house called police and Gallope was apprehended while trying to flee the residence. he has been charged with Burglary 1st degree, one count of assault 1st degree, two counts of Assault 2nd degree and Criminal Contempt 1st degree.

All three women were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of their injuries where Theresa was treated for a skull fracture. The mother and grandmother have been released.
