Corzine Heading to Super Bowl, But No Bets Yet

TRENTON, N.J. (AP)  -- New Jersey Gov. Jon S. Corzine is heading to the Super Bowl to root for the home team, even if they carry another state's name.

The New York Giants play the New England Patriots Sunday in the Super Bowl in Glendale, Ariz.

Though they claim to be from New York, the Giants play in East Rutherford, N.J. in the state-run Meadowlands Sports Complex.

Corzine said he plans to attend the big game, but hasn't placed any bets yet with Massachusetts Gov. Deval L. Patrick, though he said his office was trying to chase one down.

Corzine won a bet with Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle when the Giants beat the Green Bay Packers to advance to the Super Bowl.

Doyle bet bratwurst; Corzine bet Jersey Fresh tomatoes.

Corzine said Wednesday he doesn't know if Doyle has paid up yet.

"I don't know,'' he said with a chuckle. "I haven't been in Hoboken in the last couple of days, so maybe they shipped it there.''

Corzine stays at both a Hoboken residence and the governor's mansion in Princeton.
