NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- I have good news for women approaching menopause or dealing with some of the symptoms of the change of life and it comes with the University of Pennsylvania.
Women who experience headaches, irritability and mood swings as menopause nears will likely see these symptoms diminish as menopause progresses.
The information is based on a 9-year study where investigators followed four hundred and four 35-to-47-year-old women for nine years to investigate how typical menopausal symptoms, along with concentration problems and anxiety, might change over the course of menopause.
Obviously, a larger study is needed but the Penn researchers found that women who experienced frequent headaches before menopause saw them diminish over time and irritability and mood swings also decreased.
The researchers believe on of the major reasons is a change in the level of hormone called Follicle Stimulating Hormone.
