NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP) -- A school bus driver is accused of sexually abusing a 3-year-old girl.
1010 WINS AUDIO: Steve Sandberg Reports
Police say the driver, Rodolfo Hernandez, 51, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Thursday and was charged with sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
The incident allegedly occurred a year ago while the two were alone on the bus after Hernandez dropped off the other kids.
The Staten Island DA said Hernandez has two prior DWI arrests and questions where the bus matron was during the alleged incident since law requires a matron aboard each bus.
Hernandez was arraigned Friday on one count of criminal sexual contact, one count of a criminal sexual act on a child, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
At the time the victim was enrolled in Little Lamb Preschool in Mariners Harbor, which caters to children with disabilities.
