NEW YORK (AP) -- Republican Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno says he is moving on with the business of the state. Bruno says he will partner with lieutenant governor David Paterson when he becomes governor.
Bruno has been Spitzer's main political nemesis but he refused to criticize Spitzer, other than to say he wishes his family well.

Bruno added that Paterson has always been very open with me, very forthright and he looks forward to a positive, productive relationship.
Spitzer's resignation is set for Monday to allow a more orderly transition for Paterson, who colleagues said has been involved for the past two weeks in budget negotiations that begin in earnest Monday between the governor and lawmakers.
