NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It's the last season of old stadium mischief for the New York Yankees.
Police say two die-hard New York Yankees fans have been caught stealing.
They say witnesses reported seeing 41-year-old John Bunjaporte and 39-year-old Keith O'Rourke trying to remove screws from the decorative bunting during Tuesday's Opening Day game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.
The red, white and blue flag-like bunting usually is draped throughout the stadium on Opening Day and during the playoffs.
The men have been issued summonses and face charges of petty larceny and criminal mischief. The Yankees have revoked their season tickets.
Bronx prosecutors say the men are scheduled to respond to the charges May 19.
A phone message left for Bunjaporte at his Port Chester home hasn't been returned. There's no published number for O'Rourke at his West Harrison home.
"The Yankees look forward to making this final season at Yankee Stadium a magical event for every fan," said Yankees Chief Operating Officer Lonn Trost. " This type of destructive behavior will not be tolerated from the first game of the season through the last."
