Columbia Student Fleeing Muggers Killed by Car



NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- Police say a Columbia University student has died after being struck by a car while fleeing an attempted mugging in Manhattan.

Police say two teenagers approached Ming-Hui Yu near the intersection of Broadway and West 121st Street at about 9 p.m. Friday and attempted to rob him.

He tried to escape the attack by fleeing across Broadway and was struck by a southbound sport utility vehicle.

Police say they are looking for the teenagers suspected in the attack. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and was not charged.
