WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (AP)  -- Police say a Long Island man was running an illegal gambling hall where players would bet in cash games and tournaments.

Suffolk County Police say an undercover investigation at the William Paca Lodge in West Babylon revealed that about 25 to 35 people were betting on card games nightly.

Police say the 29-year-old man who ran the place was arrested yesterday. He is charged with promoting gambling, a misdemeanor.

More than $10,000 in cash, poker tables, cards, chips and a surveillance system and records of gambling activity were seized.
