NEW YORK (AP) -- A Queens elementary school is being renamed after a former principal who recently died from multiple sclerosis. State and city lawmakers, as well as, senior members of the city's eduction community and dozens of family and friends are to be at PS 177 in Fresh Meadows Friday, when the building is named the Robin Sue Ward School.
Ward served as the schools first principal and worked in the city school system for more than 35 years. The school teaches students from ages 5 to 21 with developmental disabilities.
