YUCK! Thousands of Blood Vials Spilled at GWB

FORT LEE (1010 WINS) -- It was a bloody mess for Jersey-bound drivers on the upper level of the GWB.

Several lanes were closed Sunday morning after thousands of vials of human blood spilled onto the roadway.

The cleanup began at around 7a.m. with Port Authority Police crews donning biohazard gear to avoid contamination.

All lanes were reopened just after 9 a.m.

Authorities say the vials may have fallen off a truck, but they're still investigating.
