NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Friends and family paid tribute Thursday to Shawn Patrick Madigan, of Freeport who was found dead just five days after he joined a Navy boot camp.
Madigan was found dead in the morning of May 7 at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois.

Navy officials told Madigan's father Shawn was training when he died of what they said was cardiac arrest.
Madigan was sworn in during a Brooklyn ceremony on May 1, and was scheduled for a four-year term with the Navy.
