EAST ORANGE, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities say a teenager fatally shot himself after being stopped by police in East Orange.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says18-year-old Tahj Roinbson, from Irvington, was wanted on drug offenses and had escaped from a halfway house in April.
Robinson was riding in a car driven by his girlfriend when they were pulled over by the county's drug and gang unit. Authorities say he then shot himself.
Authorities recovered a weapon at the scene.
