NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 15-year old girl is dead, 5 others wounded in separate shootings in Far Rockaway, Queens overnight.
Police say Brandon Bethea of Jamaica was shot in the head just after 11 p.m. in front of 1270 Redfern Avenue.
She was rushed to St. John's Hospital where she died.
Brandon's family tells 1010 WINS she was killed returning to her old neighborhood to visit friends.
The teen had just been accepted into the prestigious John Adams High School in Ozone Park, and was supposed to be looking for a prom dress for her junior high graduation. Instead, her mother is planning her funeral.
Police are still looking for Brandon's killer, though they don't believe she was the target.
