West Side Pier Bumped by Cruise Ship

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/AP)  -- Authorities say a cruise ship has hit and damaged a Manhattan pier, but no one has been hurt.

City officials say the accident damaged beams supporting parking lots at Pier 90 on the Hudson River. But they say there's no danger of a collapse.

City officials say the ship was the Norwegian Spirit. Norwegian Cruise Line hasn't responded to messages.

The cruise line says the Norwegian Spirit was due in to New York Sunday morning after a jaunt to the Caribbean.

Earlier this month, a woman on the Norwegian Dawn plunged into the sea off New Jersey from a balcony.

The company has said it appeared the New Jersey woman fell while reaching from one balcony to another.
