N.J. Educator Arrested for Child Porn, Drug Plants

BARRINGTON, N.J. (AP)  -- A New Jersey educator was arrested Friday on charges he possessed child pornography. He had previously been charged after being caught with almost two hundred marijuana plants, and three pounds of pot in his home.

Stuart Goldman, 63, of Barrington, was the subject of a lengthy investigation by New Jersey's State Police Marijuana Eradication Squad and the Camden County Prosecutor's Office that began March 17, 2006.

During his initial arrest, a state trooper spotted child porn images on Goldman's computer and sent it to the Regional Forensic Computer Lab in the State Police Technology Center in Hamilton, N.J.

Goldman was initially charged with first degree manufacturing of a controlled
dangerous substance. He was being held in the Camden County Correctional Facility on $200,000 bail, and was freed on bail.

Several weeks before Friday's arrest, the lab sent back confirmation that approximately 400 images of child porn existed on Goldman's computer. Goldman was then charged with fourth degree endangering the welfare of a child for the
possession of the child pornography. Goldman turned himself in at Barrington
Police Department Friday, and posted $2,500 additional bail.

Goldman is a self-employed educator who gives assemblies at schools in a number of states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic areas.
