DENVER (AP) -- A woman accused of punching a crew member on a JetBlue flight from New York to San Francisco has been released on $10,000 bail.
Queens resident Christina Elizabeth Szele was freed Wednesday. She had been held since June 17 in Denver, where the pilot had diverted the plane after the altercation.
The FBI says the 35-year-old woman shouted racial epithets at a flight attendant who tried to stop her from smoking.
She faces charges of assault and interfering with flight attendants. Her next court appearance is July 11.
The magistrate who set her bail ordered her not to travel on planes or drink alcohol.
The woman's brother says she's not a racist. He says she called him after her arrest and told him she's embarrassed by what happened.
