SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- South Orange police say they are investigating a burglary and fire at an East Clark Place residence.

The incident was reported around 4:45 a.m. Monday when a 24-year-old female resident reported an intruder confronted her in her bedroom while she was sleeping, police said.
Police said the victim struggled with the intruder before she discovered the bedroom was on fire.
The victim fled the scene and called 911, police said, and she suffered minor injuries in the struggle.
The incident took place right on South Orange's border with Orange, and neighbors say it is the third incident in the last few weeks on the block.
Police described the suspect as a black male in his 20s with a medium build and medium complexion. Police said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie-type sweatshirt, dark or camouflage-colored shorts and Timberland-style boots.
