Bomb Threat Delays Flights at MacArthur Airport

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (AP)  -- At least four outgoing flights have been delayed at New York's MacArthur Airport after a bomb threat was called into a Southwest Airlines office in Houston.

Officials with the town of Islip, which operates the Long Island airport, and a Southwest spokeswoman said the threat was received about Flight 2622 from Long Island to Chicago. It was called into Southwest's reservations office in Houston shortly before the scheduled takeoff at 7 a.m. Friday.

Bomb squad personnel swept the terminal and airplane, but nothing was found. Employees were returning to the terminal, and passengers were expected to begin the screening process for their flights.

Four incoming flights were not affected.
