HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police officers on Long Island were able to prevent a potentially tragic incident Sunday.
The officers responded to a call for a domestic disturbance at a home in Hicksville at about 1:40 a.m. and found Luis Feliciano threatening a woman with a kitchen knife, police said.
As the officers entered the home, Feliciano advanced on them in an aggressive manner, waving the knife and disregarding orders to drop it, police said. The officers used pepper spray to restrain him and place him under arrest.
The woman, who wasn't identified, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center with pain in her head, neck and ear.
Feliciano was charged with assault, menacing, possession of a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest.
He's due in court on Monday.
