NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The New York City Police Department's security plan for the rebuilt World Trade Center site has many local businesses asking "How much security is too much?"

'Operation Sentinel' is the police department's plan to have the 16-acre site secured by 2010.
The plan would place the site within a security zone where guard booths would be set up on street corners to check pedestrians. Taxis and car would also be specially screened.
In addition, all service and delivery trucks for the trade center site will be directed to an underground bomb screening center.
The plan has raised several concerns especially with local businesses that fear the new security policy will scare people away.
"There's a balance that needs to be had, and that needs to be constantly upheld. How much safer is that really going to make us? We're getting closer and closer to a police state," a local doorman told 1010 WINS' Steve Sandberg. "How much are civil liberties going to be encroached upon in the name of quote-on-quote security?"
The security measures are also raising questions about congestion and gridlock near the site. Numerous taxi drivers fear the plan would hinder business as many would avoid the area because of traffic.
