NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A month after a 5-year-old boy died following an elevator malfunction in the building at 70 Clymer Street in Brooklyn, that elevator apparently still hasn't been fixed.
Tenants waiting for it found nothing but an empty shaft when its doors opened Friday afternoon. Luckily, no one took a blind step.
"The miscommunication with New York City is unbelievable," Community Activist Isaac Abraham said. "Calls
have been made to 311, the Housing Authority and the NYPD and the elevator still isn't in service!"
Jacob Neuman was on his way to school in August when he fell 10 stories to his death. The elevator he was in got stuck and he tried jumping out of the car onto the next floor but didn't make it.
There was no immediate comment from the building's managers.
