Man Accused of Raping 5-Year-Old Girl, Giving Her an STD

DOVER, N.J. (AP)  -- An arrest affidavit for a Morris County man says he admitted to raping a 5-year-old girl, who contracted a sexually transmitted disease.

The man was charged Tuesday with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and child endangerment. Authorities say the 28-year-old Dover man attacked the girl last spring.

His arrest affidavit says state children's services workers notified police that the child had been diagnosed with Chlamydia. The man agreed to be tested for Chlamydia, and the test came back positive.

The Associated Press is not identifying the man to protect the identity of the child, who is related to him.

He is being held in the Morris County jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
