TOMS RIVER, N.J. (AP) -- An elderly man who shot and killed his ailing wife in her New Jersey hospital bed yesterday has died.
Toms River police said the 88-year-old man died early Saturday morning.
Authorities said the man (Charles Mason) shot his 87-year-old wife in her hospital room Friday afternoon, then turned the gun on himself. Police found him slumped on the floor in the room.
A second patient sharing the room was unharmed.
