Problems Reported With Conn. Election Hotline

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP)  --  Connecticut officials say there are problems with an election hot line that's been set up to report voting irregularities.

State and federal officials announced last week that they would set up the toll-free hot line in Connecticut for anyone who witnesses or experiences voting irregularities on Election Day.

But the phone number was not working properly Tuesday morning. State officials say people should instead call the Connecticut State Elections Enforcement Commission at 860-256-2940.

Anyone who knows of election fraud or voting abuses is being urged to call the number. The staff will answer questions, advise on how to proceed with a complaint and, if necessary, request help from state and federal law enforcement.
