Newark Mayor Cory Booker Lauds Obama's Win

NEWARK, N.J. (AP)  -- Cory Booker says a sense of euphoria overtook him the moment Barack Obama was declared the next U.S. president.

But the Newark mayor says he won't follow Obama to Washington if offered a Cabinet post.

Booker says he still has unfinished business in Newark and plans to run for re-election in 2010.

Still, he says Tuesday's election was important for New Jersey's largest city in many way.

Booker is urging the city's newly energized residents, who turned out in record numbers to vote, to now shift their energy toward community involvement and improving the city.

Booker says he's also excited about Obama's vision for urban cities, which he says he has discussed at length with Obama during the past four years.
