Teen Gets Prison In Shooting of Queens Boy, 11

NEW YORK (AP)  -- A 19-year-old man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting an 11-year-old boy who answered the door of his New York City home.

Prosecutors have said Michael Peterson had apparently targeted the victim's older brother but instead shot 11-year-old Tyshaun Falconer in December 2007 when he answered the door of his Queens home. The wounded boy suffered a collapsed lung.

Peterson pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted murder in Queens Supreme Court last month as part of a plea deal. The 19-year-old Peterson is a resident of Elmont, Long Island.
