Fake Pricey Jeans Found in Westchester Traffic Stop

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. (AP)  -- Suburban New York police say a van carrying nearly 1,000 pairs of counterfeit jeans -- complete with fake Saks and Bloomingdale's price tags -- has been intercepted because of a broken taillight.

Westchester County police spokesman Kieran O'Leary says the driver was arrested on a charge of trademark counterfeiting. Frank Dellisanti of East Hanover, N.J., was awaiting arraignment Thursday, and no lawyer for him was listed in court records.

O'Leary says the van was stopped on the Saw Mill Parkway late Wednesday. He says the officer suspected counterfeiting when he saw the garments, and detectives confirmed it.

The jeans were falsely labeled with such brands as Citizens of Humanity and Rock and Republic, some of which sell for nearly $400.
