Upstate NY Man Gets 23 Years for Killing Toddler

WAMPSVILLE, N.Y. (AP) -- A 24-year-old man will spend 23 years in state prison for killing a 3-year-old boy by slamming him headfirst onto the floor.
Jesse Snow of Canastota was convicted of first-degree manslaughter after a non-jury trial in September. The victim, Aadon Olmsted, never regained consciousness after the February attack and later died at a Syracuse hospital.
At his sentencing Friday in Madison County Court, Snow, who lived with the boy's mother, said he loved Aadon and never intended to hurt him. Snow said he was play wrestling with the boy and accidentally dropped him.
