Twin 10-Month-Olds Safe after Carjacking NJ Incident

NEWARK, N.J. (1010 WINS)  -- Police in Newark are searching for a man who allegedly stole a vehicle with twin 10-month-old girls inside.

The carjacking occurred shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday. A woman pulled out of her driveway and got out of her 2007 Hyundai SUV to close her gate when the suspect got in the vehicle and drove off with the infants in the back seat.

The SUV was seen headed west on Central Ave. Less than 30 minutes later it was recovered around the corner from where it had been stolen.

The girls were being examined by emergency medical services personnel but appeared to be unharmed.

The suspect is still at large.
