3 Brooklyn Nursing Home Patients Die in 1 Hour

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- Police are investigating the deaths of three Brooklyn nursing home patients who all died of heart attacks within an hour of one another.

Carol D'Auria reports.

The three deaths were discovered during a bed check early Thursday morning at the New Carlton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, at 405 Carlton Ave., authorities said.

One man was 61-years-old and had terminal cancer the other two were 72 and 77-years-old and all of them lived on the third floor.

All had heart attacks and died within one hour, authorities said. Due to the number of deaths in such a short time period detectives decided to investigate the incidents.

However the an official from the center said he sis not see anything amiss about the situation.

"As far as I am concerned people are old...and people are ill...and people pass way...and it is very unfortunate," he said.

The Medical Examiner's Office is trying to determine how they died and emergency crews call the situation unusual to say the least.
