Police Investigate 3 Deaths at Brooklyn Nursing Home

NEW YORK (AP)  -- Police are investigating what happened to three men who were found dead over the span of an hour on the same floor of a Brooklyn nursing home.

Police say the men -- ages 77, 72 and 61 -- were all found early Thursday morning at the Carlton Nursing Home in the Fort Greene neighborhood.

Police spokesman Paul J. Browne says the deaths may be "no more than a coincidence.'' But he says a crime scene has been established and "standard investigative steps were taken.''

Carlton Nursing Home Medical Director Lawrence Diamond said that "there's nothing unusual about old people dying. There's nothing suspicious as far as I'm concerned.''

The medical examiner's office is expected to conduct autopsies on the three men Friday.
