Alleged Robbery in Brooklyn Turns Deadly

NEW YORK (1010 WINS)  -- A 26-year-old woman was shot to death in her boyfriend's apartment at 1785 Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Tiesha Sargeant, of 144 Clarkson Avenue in Brooklyn.

At least two men are believed to have entered the apartment she was in with her boyfriend at about 1:30 Sunday morning by first going through a hole in the fence and then climbing up the fire escape into her second floor apartment.

When in the apartment, the boyfriend of Sargeant claims he was restrained while she was shot in the head.

1010 WINS Audio:  Reporter Katherine Maloney speaks with area residents shaken by the crime.

The motive was believed to be robbery.

A weapon was recovered outside the apartment at the scene and the dead woman's boyfriend has been taken in for questioning.

It is not known if he is being questioned as a witness or a suspect.
