Wall Street Exec Pleads Guilty to Fatal DWI, Gets Light Sentence
NEW YORK (AP) -- A Wall Street executive has pleaded guilty to drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident and will serve just 16 days in jail, after prosecutors revealed the victim had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.
George Anderson, the founder and CEO of technology firm Enterprise Engineering, had faced up to seven years in prison.
Under Wednesday's plea agreement, Anderson will serve eight weekends in jail, 200 hours of community service and pay a $350 fine.
Prosecutors say it was impossible to say if the victim, Florence Cioffi, contributed to the accident because she was intoxicated.
They say an investigation revealed the Brooklyn woman probably stepped out in-between two parked cars.
