NEW YORK (AP) -- The owner of New York City-area airports and the World Trade Center site says it's going to publicize inspection reports to prove its facilities are safe.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey says it will release a report each year of its internal inspections of LaGuardia, Kennedy and Newark airports, its transit terminals in both states and the trade center site.
Safety advocates have complained that the bistate agency is not required to conform to New York City building codes because its property falls under the control of New York and New Jersey's governors.
The agency says its records will show it follows safety codes, even though it is not bound by them.
The first report will be released during the first quarter of this year.
