Auburn 12-Year-Old Girl Dies from Sledding Injuries



SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP)  --  A 12-year-old central New York girl has died from injuries suffered when she slid into a car while sledding on a hill in Syracuse.
   
Taylor Denson of Auburn died Tuesday at a Syracuse hospital.
   
She was taken to the hospital after she suffered serious head injuries Saturday when her tube slammed into a car parked on a road at the bottom of the hill at the city-owned Westcott Reservoir.
   
Officials with the Auburn school district announced the girl's death Tuesday night.
   
The hill is a popular sledding spot, although sledding is prohibited on city-owned property.
   
``No Sledding'' signs are posted on the property. Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll says the city will install more signs as well as plastic fencing to discourage sledding.
