Greenwich Murder Victim's Widow Denied Insurance Payments

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP)  -- A federal judge in Connecticut has rejected an attempt by a murdered Greenwich developer's widow to get the money from his $15 million life insurance policy.

Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. had sued Hayley Kissel, saying it did not have to pay because Andrew Kissel didn't tell the company he was a chronic drug user and had sought psychiatric treatment.

Two men have been charged in the stabbing death of Andrew Kissel at his Greenwich home in 2006, just days before he was scheduled to plead guilty in a multimillion-dollar fraud case.

U.S. District Judge Vanessa Bryant recently ruled that the life insurance policy can be rescinded because Andrew Kissel signed what he knew were false insurance documents.

Hayley Kissel's lawyer says an appeal is being considered.
