Cops: Boy Loses Leg after Being Struck by Car in Brooklyn
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police say an 8-year-old boy's leg has been severed after van jumped a curb in Brooklyn. The boy's mother has also been injured.
Al Jones Reports
The accident happened shortly after 4 p.m. on Stratford Road in the Prospect Park South section of the borough.
The driver apparently lost control of the van while trying to park the vehicle and struck the two people, police say. The boy was apparently slammed through the door of a building and shattered glass severed his leg.
The boy and his mother were sitting on a stoop waiting for his sister to get off a school bus, police say.
The mother and her son are listed in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.
The driver has not been charged.
