Connecticut Firefighter Faces Another Arson Charge
BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) -- A Connecticut volunteer firefighter charged in a series of arsons is facing another allegation that he set a fire.
Brett Fennessy of Plymouth was charged with third-degree arson and other crimes Tuesday as he appeared in Bristol Superior Court. Plymouth police say Fennessy set a small barn fire on Carter Road last September that caused minor damage.
Fennessy was suspended from the Terryville Volunteer Fire Department in Plymouth last year. He has been charged with setting 13 fires in Plymouth and another in Thomaston that caused substantial property damage, but no one was hurt.
Fennessy is set to appear in court again next Tuesday. He has been detained in lieu of bonds totaling $1 million since his arrest in September.
