NEW YORK (AP) -- A New York City music teacher has been sentenced to six months in jail and 10 years probation for having explicit pictures of an 11-year-old male student.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown says 25-year-old Amos Duque was also ordered to register as a sex offender at Wednesday's sentencing. The guitar and piano teacher had pleaded guilty in April to a count of possessing a sexual performance by a child.
Brown says Duque was teaching at the Allegro Vivace Music School in Queens on Dec. 20, 2008, when he offered the child money to take pictures and a video of his genitals with the teacher's cell phone.
