NEW YORK (AP) -- Prosecutors say an EMT took a cell-phone photo of a corpse while working a crime scene and posted it on Facebook.
Mark Musarella pleaded not guilty to an official misconduct charge at his arraignment Thursday. Defense lawyer Edward J. Pavia Jr. says the photo was posted by accident, and Musarella is sorry.
Caroline Wimmer was found strangled with her hair dryer March 30 on Staten Island. Prosecutors say Musarella responded to the emergency call, snapped a picture of Wimmer's body and posted the image on his page on the social networking Web site.
Musarella faces up to a year in jail if convicted. The hospital where he was working has fired him.
A lawyer for Wimmer's family says prosecuting Musarella will ``keep society civil.''
Calvin Lawson pleaded not guilty in Wimmer's death.
