NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- There was a rally today in Brooklyn to show support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
This comes after two women, Jeannette Grey and Tiffany Jimenez were beaten by male police officers at a lounge on the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Atlantic Avenue on May 17.
According to the women, the officers shouted homophobic slurs toward the women.
Both women were then taken into police custody where more of their rights were violated.
Hundreds, including Grey, Jimenez and other victims, showed up to the event today in support of the LGBT victims of police violence.
According to the NYPD, they responded to a fight outside the bar and attempted to disperse the crowd.
Four people were arrested and one, Jimenez was taken to Kings County Hospital because she was highly intoxicated. She was then treated and released from the hospital.
Two of the women received C summonses and released. The other two were charged with resisting arrest and taken into custody.
On May 19, a complaint was filed to IAB by Jimenez's uncle alleging that she was the victim of unnecessary force and an anti-lesbian remark.
