NEW YORK (AP) -- A pedicab driver taking three passengers from Manhattan to Brooklyn on the Williamsburg Bridge has collided with a yellow taxicab. Police say the pedicab operator and a passenger were injured.
The accident occurred around 7:25 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Bedford Avenue and Broadway in Brooklyn, just after the bridge. Two injured adults were taken to an area hospital and were in stable condition.
Police are investigating, but so far say no criminality is suspected.
City officials passed a law in 2007 that limited the number of licenses given to pedicab companies. Pedicab operators say they're run by human energy instead of gasoline, and are easy to maneuver through traffic.
