WOODBINE, N.J. (AP) -- A small plane has crashed near a southern New Jersey airport, injuring the pilot.
New Jersey State Police say the aircraft crashed around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in a wooded area near Woodbine Municipal Airport in Cape May County, about 20 miles southwest of Atlantic City.
Sgt. Julian Castellanos, a state police spokesman, said the pilot, identified as Neville J. Hogan of Sudbury, Mass., was conscious when emergency crews arrived. He was taken to the trauma center at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, where he was being treated for unspecified injuries.
Castellanos said Hogan was flying from Massachusetts to Cape May. No one else was aboard the plane.
No one on the ground was injured.
