Cops: Long Island Woman Stole from Purses in Church
CARLE PLACE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island woman has been arrested for stealing from people in a church.

Patricia Adams, 46, of Westbury, was seen by an usher Sunday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Carle Place leaning over a pew and taking cash from the purse of a parishioner who was on the kneeler, police said.
Cops were called and Adams was apprehended as she exited the church.
Further investigation found that Adams was responsible for a similar theft on Mother's Day, police said.
She was charged with two counts of petit larceny.
